In Business Since 1967..

Originally called Oakes Garage located behind the Oakes Bakery.

Oakes Truck Sales, originally called Oakes Garage, originated by Terry Oakes on Foster street in Perth behind the Oakes Bakery in 1967. Working in the back parking lot and a single bay garage the business was started, initially just himself then hiring an employee.

Eventually purchasing property on Lanark road and building a larger shop Terry concentrated on Truck repair and Maintenance, along with Towing. In 1976 an addition was built adding three more bays for service and turning the front of the building into a body shop.

In 1981 we became an International® Dealer..

Oakes Truck Sales was formed & started selling new trucks

In 1981 the International® Dealership became available and Terry who never sat on his hands purchased the building and became an International® Dealer. Oakes Truck Sales was formed, working with Kemptville Truck Centre when it came to new truck sales, Terry also purchase used which would be reconditioned and put up for resale.

Terry ran the dealership for the next 15 years, selling parts from Kingston to Ottawa, servicing heavy trucks and selling new and used along with a leasing division, shunting and light and heavy towing division.

In 1996 Tom Oakes purchased the truck dealership..

Tom Oakes moved his body shop and fiberglass boat repair business into the building in which Terry had moved from across town (the old Millard Towers building).

Keeping in tradition Tom and a great staff (now with 18 employees) has continued selling parts, servicing and Maintaining Heavy Trucks along with selling new and used Trucks.

With the body shop on site it compliments the sales department in reconditioning what we purchase and also providing the service to outside customers.

Constantly evolving with the business the decision was made to become a sub contractor for Rush in order to expand our reach and provide the best possible service to our valued customers.
